Overview

LAW, MEMORY, HEALING: Human Rights Violations in the Aftermath of 1984

Join us in dissecting the political groundwork that shaped public perception and ensuing riots against Sikhs in India that has translated to attacks now being committed abroad. Our panel will discuss the unlawful extrajudicial killings that occurred during India’s era of forced encounters against Panjab’s youth, blatant human rights violations in Panjab, the relentless attack to silence voices overseas that has shaped Sikh identity/diaspora, and how to continue to advocate for justice 41 years later.
