About this event

The Health Security Forum: Strengthening Global Health Security Through Collaboration and Innovation is convening global leaders, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to address the urgent and complex challenges of global health security. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and dialogue, the forum will highlight lessons from recent health emergencies and explore innovative, collaborative approaches to building a more resilient future.

The Forum is hosted by the UBC Centre for Disease Control (UBC CDC), in partnership with the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and the Pacific Public Health Foundation (PPHF).

Vancouver, as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific and a hub for health innovation, is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.


Objectives:

  • Share lessons from COVID-19, Mpox, and avian influenza.
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary and international partnerships.
  • Highlight Indigenous and equity-informed approaches to health security.
  • Explore innovations in surveillance, data, and preparedness.
