“Twists of Fate: From Forgotten Manuscript To Forgotten Virtuoso”
Overview
Join us at the beautiful First Congregational Church for an exciting evening of two great, muscular pieces for violin and piano!
Duo Dramatique performs Beethoven’s famous “Kreutzer” Sonata, dedicated to one famous violinist who was Beethoven’s friend at the time, only for the dedication to be taken away and given to another - all out of falling out over a woman!
Another landmark on this program will be Mendelssohn’s grand Sonata in F Major, which lay forgotten for more than 100 years after the composer’s death, only to be re-discovered and published in mid-20th century by the great violinist Yehudi Menuhin.
Duo Dramatique will also perform the elusive and charming “Nocturne” by French composer Lili Boulanger.
This concert will be full of passionate energy and riveting stories! Bring your friends, music fans, students!
FREE and open to all, however donation will be accepted and appreciated.
This concert is a part of FCC “Music at the Meeting House” concert series.
