For over 34 years, Attorney and Mediator Patti Philipse has focused exclusively on negotiating and mediating out-of-court divorce, custody, and support settlements. She practices law exclusively in Virginia and does not practice in Maryland or the District of Columbia.

In this program, Patti:

  • Provides practical information on how to establish a separation and process a divorce.
  • Describes and compares different methods of reaching an out-of-court settlement using mediation, negotiation and/or collaboration techniques.
  • Offers strategies that will allow you to effectively prepare for your settlement discussions.
  • Provides tips and recommendations to keep your settlement discussions productive and efficient.
  • Please note that one section of this program (total 6 sections) is Virginia-specific and not applicable to DC or MD residents.

Things to know:

  • Register early
  • A minimum of 5 participants is required for workshop.
  • If under 5 people show up for the workshop, the presenter has the option to cancel the session.

PLEASE NOTE: WORKSHOP IS IN PERSON AT THE WOMENS CENTER IN VIENNA, VA

Refund, Cancellation, No Show & Re-Scheduling Policy:

Participants who register for the workshop and do not attend or cancel their registration less than 24 hours prior to the start of the program, will not receive a refund.

Refunds (not including the processing fee) will be issued with 24 hour cancellation notice after the program has completed. Please submit your refund request for the event to: twcadmin@thewomenscenter.org

Participants who are not able to attend and have contacted the Women’s Center 24 hours prior to the workshop can re-schedule for the same workshop on another day, up to 6 months after the initial workshop date.

Full refunds will be issued for any program cancelled by The Women’s Center. If the program is rescheduled, we will offer to transfer the cost to the new date in lieu of a refund.
