Join the Game: Turning Your Skills into a Gaming Career with Delyth Thomas
Tue 18 Nov 13:00 - 14:00
Hosted by Clare Fisher
The UK’s video game industry is valued at £7.82 billion. It’s an area of huge creative drive with many comparable roles to TV. We will be talking about this, life as a leading director and much more, with Delyth Thomas, an extremely accomplished award-winning director. But now, she is also using her vast experience in Film and TV to work in the gaming industry too.
So, how can you make the move too? What are our transferable TV skills that make a gaming career possible? And what steps can we take to get noticed, network like a ninja, and build a range of careers moving forward?
Delyth will talk about how she now works across different areas – these include her main stay, film and tv directing, but also corporate animation, AR and video games, the latest of which is, Venom.
A three times Bafta nominated Director, Delyth's work ranges from primetime feature length comedy drama, dark brooding crime to award-winning family gems. Credits include Victoria, Vera, Silent Witness, The Story Of Tracy Beaker, Ben Chanan's Then You Run for Sky and Call The Midwife.
