📣 Epic Spelling Bee – October 8th for 1st–8th Grade Students
Epic students—are you ready to put your spelling skills to the test? Join us for the Epic Spelling Bee on Tuesday, October 8th!
📚 Study Resources:Download the Scripps Word Club App for a suggested list of study words. This is just a starting point—grade-level study lists can also be found online (Google search recommended). Students who plan to compete should prepare using the Scripps Spelling Bee platform, which will be used during our competition.
🗓 Competition Schedule:
- The Spelling Bee begins at 9:30 a.m., starting with 1st grade and moving up to 8th grade.
- Each grade will compete separately.
- Check-in opens 30 minutes before your competition time—please arrive early!
- A detailed schedule will be emailed to all registered participants two weeks before the event so you’ll know exactly when to be ready.

- Check in with an Epic staff member at the entrance upon arrival.
- Show your school spirit—wear your Epic gear!
📌 Event Policies:
- Open to Epic students in grades 1–8 only.
- Per National Spelling Bee rules, students must compete at their current grade level.
- Registration is required via Eventbrite to reserve your spot. Parents/guardians should register both themselves and their Epic students so we can plan and staff accordingly.
- Parent/guardian supervision is required—students may not be dropped off.
- You will need your student’s Epic ID number and teacher’s name to register.
- No cellphones or personal items allowed during competition—students should leave phones, bags, drinks, and other belongings with their caregiver during the event.
Sign Language Services: To request a sign language interpreter for an Epic student at this event, please use this link: ASL Request Link. Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance of the event. The link can also be found on the Epic website under the About tab → Requests & Forms.
❗ Cancellations:If you register but can’t attend, please cancel your reservation through your Eventbrite confirmation email so another student can take your place.
🌦 Inclement Weather:If weather conditions require us to cancel, we will notify you via email through Eventbrite.
