The Tuesday Open Mic at The Westside is the best open mic in all of Los Angeles!


How it works:

  • WE RECOMMEND YOU PAY CASH AT THE DOOR TO AVOID FEES.
  • Your ticket does not gaurantee you a slot to perform, but typically you have a 60% chance of being chosen.
  • Arrive at 9:45PM
  • Your ticket purchase includes a slip of paper
  • Write your name on the paper and drop it in the bucket when you enter the theater.
  • Show starts at 10:00PM
  • We draw 25 names.
  • Those 25 names are put in another bucket and drawn at random over the next 2 hours
  • Comics get 3 minutes with a light at 2:30
  • When a Standup 301 class is in session, 2-3 additional guaranteed spots will be added for students in the first half of the mic. This will not impact the number of names pulled.


No jokes about rape or threats of violence. Staff and fellow performers are to be treated with respect. Rules are monitored by our host and staff and violators will played off!

Where are you located?

We are located in the alley between 3rd and 4th between Santa Monica Blvd and Arizona Blvd.

Where should I park?

The easiest parking is at Parking Garage #1 (entrance on 4th Street between Wilshire & Arizona). Free for 90 min, then $2 for the next 30 min—just $2 for 2 hours! After that, it's $1.50 per half-hour. There is also street parking that is free after 6PM on 5th street and east.

When should I arrive?

We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before a show. We are a general admission theater and there are no assigned seats.

Is there a drink minimum?

NO DRINK MINIMUM. But we do have a great wine and beer bar that you won’t be able to resist. We also sell sodas, non-alcoholic beer and other non-alcoholic beverages.

What is seating like?

We have cabaret style seating, small tables with chairs around them. Our tables seat two. All of our seating is done first come first serve, from the front to the back of the room. We can accommodate large groups to sit together. For large parties, please contact chrisgorbos@gmail.com

Do you have ADA listening devices?

Yes, we have ADA listening devices available upon request at the door. If you are seeking further accommodation, please email chrisgorbos@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the start of the event.
