Trust Falls: Building Deep Connection

To connect deeply with an audience, performers must first connect with themselves and each other. Trusting in the process, in your scene partners, and in your own instincts, is the foundation of this connection.

This workshop explores how trust creates presence. Together, we’ll practice intentional listening, physical awareness, and emotional safety as cornerstones of authentic performance. Beyond the familiar tool of “Yes, and”, we’ll explore what it means to truly rely on and support one another, both onstage and off.

Exercises will utilise movement, embracing stillness, discussion, and scene work. We’ll touch on practices of consent and boundaries, particularly for scenes involving intimacy and vulnerability. We will also highlight how performers can lean into the use of poetic and evocative language, saying more with less, and the ways our bodies can tell more of the story.
