Step into an evening that traces the piano trio from Classical elegance to French color and Romantic fire. In the intimate acoustics of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Trio Azura invites you into a world of sound that is clear, atmospheric, and passionate.
Founded at the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles and now Ensemble in Residence at the Colburn School, Trio Azura has quickly gained international recognition, including the Grand Prize and Gold Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Their performances are marked by youthful energy, deep musical insight, and a shared sense of artistry.
The program features three masterworks for piano trio:
Joseph Haydn – Piano Trio No. 45 in E-flat Major, Hob. XV/29
Maurice Ravel – Piano Trio in A Minor
Intermission
Felix Mendelssohn – Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor, Op. 66
