Estate Tasting: Pontet Canet, Tesseron, and Pym Rae
Overview
An Evening with the Tesseron Family’s 100-Point Legends: Pontet-Canet, Tesseron Cognac, and Pym Rae
Tonight, we raise our glasses to three extraordinary estates, all owned by the remarkable Tesseron family, all awarded a perfect 100 points, and all brimming with character. From the quiet vineyards of Pauillac to the golden hills of Napa, this is a celebration of passion, place, and a touch of magic.
Château Pontet-Canet: Pauillac, Bordeaux
Pontet-Canet is proof that old-school Bordeaux can still surprise you. The team farms their vines with horses, follows the rhythms of nature, and somehow turns Cabernet Sauvignon into something both powerful and graceful. It’s classic Pauillac, but with a pulse; deep, vibrant, and impossible to forget.
Tesseron Cognac:
This is Cognac in its finest form. The family’s crown jewel, built from eaux-de-vie that have been aging quietly for generations. One sip and time slows down. It’s rich, elegant, and just a little bit dangerous in how easy it is to fall in love with.
Pym Rae: Mount Veeder, Napa Valley
Once the private estate of Robin Williams, this stunning Mount Veeder vineyard now thrives under the Tesseron family’s care. Named after Williams' children, the estate retains its original name, Pym Rae. As Robin himself said, “You’re only given a little spark of madness , you mustn’t lose it.”
That spark shines bright here, bold mountain fruit, pure energy, and a joyful spirit that fills the glass.
Three perfect scores. Three unforgettable stories. One night to taste what perfection feels like
