Central Chapter of INPS invites you to join our Zoom presentation about tree pruning.

Tree Pruning Essentials- Tree pruning is essential for maintaining tree structure, health, and safety. Pruning should always be done with clear objectives and an understanding of tree biology to ensure long-term vitality and stability as well. This presentation will cover key principles, including optimal timing, proper cuts, and improving structure in young trees to establish a strong leader and good branch attachments based on research and best practices.

Guest speaker, Lindsey Purcell will lead us through the information we need to be good stewards of our native trees. Lindsey Purcell, principal of Lp Consulting Group, has over 40

years of experience in community landscape and urban forestry. He is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and has worked with communities across the U.S. at various levels of government and private sector. Purcell retired from 21 years of teaching at Purdue University and Vincennes University and has published a book titled Arboricultural Practices; a science-based approach to tree care. As an educator, author, and arborist, Purcell provides educational opportunities and products for professional arborists and urban foresters internationally. Additionally, Purcell serves as Executive Director of the Indiana chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture. He is also an American Society of Consulting Arborists Registered Consulting Arborist and holds the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification as a certified instructor by the International Society of Arboriculture.
