Tree Canopy Data How-to, 10:00-12:00

The long-awaited data layers for all cities in San Diego County are finally uploaded to SanGIS (in the “ecology” set). Local GIS experts are starting to work with arborists, planners, health professionals, and communities to map and analyze the data.

  • How do I use maps to see the trees in my community?

  • In what neighborhoods should trees be planted first? Why?

  • Where can trees be planted to cool the city and improve public health?

  • How do we use this data to set tree canopy goals for Climate Action Plans?

  • How can professionals use tree canopy layers for plans and projects?
