Overview

As part of The Opportunity Project’s Fall 2022 Sprint, we developed TREC, an open source tool to help users identify transit stations that are critical for accessing key services such as hospitals, and that are at elevated risk of experiencing a climate-related disaster such as flooding.

Join us as we launch TREC and share how we developed this human-centered and geospatial approach to the intersectional impact of climate change on transit and communities. We'll share how TREC can give NYC decision-makers a more holistic picture to inform their infrastructure improvements, and empower local community organizations to advocate for their underserved constituents.

The climate crisis we face requires collective intelligence and creative problem solving, and democratizing access to these kinds of tools will be crucial in making progress.
