Intense phobias can really wreck a client's life. The isolation they can experience coupled with the shame of struggling with something others navigate with ease causes enormous distress and can provide an uphill battle for any therapist trying to join clients on their journey to recovery. On August 8t, from 2-5pm in person at the Broadmoor Arts and Wellness Center, Jill Kelly (LCSW) will provide attendees with a clear roadmap for working with phobias, using driving phobia as her main case example. Jill Kelly is a level 4 trainer of TEAM CBT; a more empathetic, collaborative, and data driven update by Dr. David Burns on the original model. Rooted in said framework, Jill will walk us through the course of treatment, differential diagnoses, and interventions strategies (fear hierarchy exercises anybody?). We will then breakout to do some deliberate practice so that we all have some time to integrate!
