What You’ll Learn

This engaging, hands-on training will guide you through:

  • Finding Solid Ground (FSG): The first evidence-based program for individuals with complex dissociative disorders. You’ll explore its eight structured modules and discover how this approach fosters present-focused skills, emotional regulation, crisis management, and self-compassion.
  • Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR): A promising, neuroscience-informed trauma-processing method that supports deep healing without retraumatization—especially helpful for clients with early and extensive trauma histories.
  • Through roleplays, clinical vignettes, videos, and guided practice, you’ll walk away with practical skills you can begin using right away.

Key Topics Included:

  • Sequencing interventions for complex trauma to maximize impact
  • Grounding clients and helping them distinguish between past and present
  • Assessing readiness for trauma processing and pacing effectively
  • Brain-based approaches to parts work—when to use it, and when not to
  • Enhancing embodiment and emotional regulation during trauma work

Learning Objectives

By the end of the training, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the eight modules of the Finding Solid Ground program.
  2. Apply practical, present-focused interventions to help clients develop emotional regulation and self-compassion.
  3. Implement FSG with complex trauma clients using an evidence-based approach.
  4. Assess and prepare clients for trauma processing using FSG and DBR tools.
  5. Use neuroscience-informed strategies for grounding, pacing, and emotional regulation.
  6. Identify appropriate use of parts work and when to de-emphasize it.
  7. Explain how Deep Brain Reorienting can support trauma recovery in highly dissociative clients.

  • Mental health professionals working with complex trauma, dissociation (including Dissociative Identity Disorder), developmental trauma etc.
