"Traumatic Bereavement 101"

BRIEF DESCRIPTION / GOAL OF THE ACTIVITY:
This 3-hour workshop will educate mental health professionals, health care providers, and educators in an introductory manner about traumatic bereavement, including its prevalence, impact, and options for support and intervention. The goal of this workshop is to provide information about the ubiquity of bereavement, common reactions, and the unique nature of traumatic loss. By doing so, the workshop will provide information about empirically informed models of adaptation to bereavement and warning signs that educators can identify for individuals who may be at risk for bereavement-related complications. The workshop will include an experiential component that provides attendees with hands-on practice describing the unique nature of traumatic loss, and how most people naturally adapt to this traumatic stressor.

- Submitted for 3 continuing education credits for psychologists (subject to approval): $15.00

Cancellation Policies & Procedures
- The University reserves the right to cancel courses that do not meet the minimum enrollment required.
- A full refund will only be issued if the University cancels the course.
- If a participant does not attend on the scheduled date, no refund will be issued.
- All cancellations must be made at least five (5) days before the course start date. After that period, no refunds or changes will be granted.
- No refunds will be provided if the participant does not attend or fails to complete the total course hours.
- Payments cannot be credited or transferred to other courses.

Políticas de Cancelación y Procedimientos
• La Universidad se reserva el derecho de cancelar cursos cuando no tengan el mínimo de matrícula requerida.
• Sólo se reembolsa el dinero en su totalidad si la Universidad cancela el curso.
• Si el día del curso el participante no se presenta, no tendrá derecho a reembolso.
• Toda cancelación debe hacerse cinco (5) días antes de la fecha de comienzo del curso. Luego de transcurridos los días, no se harán reembolsos ni cambios.
• No se reembolsa dinero alguno si el participante no asiste o no completa la totalidad de las horas del curso.
• No se acreditará dinero a otros cursos.
