Join Color Wheel Therapy for a virtual trauma-informed yoga class designed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This beginner-friendly session, led by Kiara Smothers, RYT 200, offers gentle movement, breathwork, and somatic practices to help you feel grounded, calm, and more connected to your body.

Perfect for those navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, or high stress, this session is rooted in somatic healing and nervous system regulation. You’ll be guided through a flow that prioritizes choice, safety, and care, making it ideal for all bodies and all levels of experience.

This is restorative yoga for Black mental health. A space where you don’t have to perform, push, or pretend. Just show up as you are and let your body lead.

What does “trauma-informed” mean?

Trauma-informed yoga is a mindful approach that puts safety, choice, and empowerment first. There’s no pressure to perform or push your body beyond its limits. All movements are invitational, and you’re encouraged to do what feels best for you.

What is somatic healing?

Somatic healing focuses on the link between mind and body. It helps release stress and trauma stored in the body through gentle movements, breathwork, and awareness. This promotes nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and a deeper sense of presence.

Do I need to have yoga experience to join?

Not at all! This class is beginner-friendly and open to all levels. Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, we’ll meet you where you are.

What should I bring?

All you need is a yoga mat or towel, water, and any props or items that help you feel supported, like a pillow or blanket. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move.

Will my camera need to be on?

Nope. Your camera can be on or off, depending on what makes you feel most comfortable. This is a judgment-free zone.

Is this class only for Black people?

While this space focuses on the healing and wellness of Black communities, any respectful participant is welcome to attend and practice with care and awareness of the space's purpose.

As a Black-led mental wellness collective, our mission is to create safe, affirming spaces where healing feels possible, and this yoga class is one of them.

Led by Kiara Smothers, RYT 200, our sessions blend mindful movement with the principles of somatic therapy, an approach that recognizes how trauma and stress live in the body. Through breathwork, grounding practices, and accessible movement, you'll be gently guided to release tension, build body awareness, and restore a sense of safety within yourself.
