About

This 3.5 hour workshop is for organisational leaders. Understanding what trauma is and how it affects us is the first step towards becoming a trauma-informed leader. Without this understanding we are operating without full understanding and vision of the people we lead.

This workshop will introduce managers to trauma and how it relates to their role as a Manager. Topics include:

· Definitions, prevalence, and responses to trauma.

· Trauma and the brain

· Shame, culture, and trauma

· Neuroplasticity and coping mechanisms of people in the workplace.

· Trauma informed language and communications as a manager.

· A brief overview of psychological safety.

· Vicarious trauma predicators

What will you learn:

· Participants will leave with an overview of what trauma and trauma-informed practice is underpinned by an awareness of what trauma-informed practice looks like.

· An understanding of the importance of trauma informed language in re/traumatisation and how to use the new language in a workplace context.

· Participants will leave with a plan to incorporate trauma informed principles into their leadership approach.
