Kinky and managing C-PTSD? Worried about how to play safely without triggering negative memories or trauma responses? You've found the right place!
Welcome to Trauma Informed Kink- How to Play Safely When You Have C-PTSD. In this session, you will learn what C-PTSD is, how it is formed, and tips on how to manage such as separating past from present and recognizing trauma responses. Ever wondered if your kink was actually just a reenactment of past trauma? We will explore the differences between healthy kink vs reenactment and how it relates to C-PTSD.
Additionally, we will review common types of kink/BDSM scenes (impact, D/s, and sensory play) and how to manage them from a trauma-informed perspective (to include: consent, pre-negotiation, accessing C-PTSD managing skills, and aftercare).Attendees are welcome to utilize their FetLife or scene names should they wish to maintain anonymity. Be prepared to come with questions!
Hosted by Scarlet Lovejoy, LPC (vlovejoy@bloomhealthcenters.com) and Siria Minaya, LPC (sminaya@insightactiontherapy.com). Please Note: If you are a client of Scarlet or Siria, we are unable to acknowledge that you are our current client due to confidentiality requirements.
