All levels welcome. This class will focus on developing transparent layers of color within a composition. We will work with various pigments, explore their inherent qualities and discover how to make them more transparent. There will be information, exploration, experimentation, and fun!
Learning to create transparency with pigment is a key element to enhancing your art-making skills. Each pigment has a certain quality which can be modified with additional acrylic products to create thick or thin transparent layers. Spend the day with Chris Cozen exploring the possibilities, learning to glaze, extend your paint (and your $$ as well).
Please bring:
Your preferred work surfaces (paper, canvas, board, etc.)
Your acrylic paints
At least one acrylic medium (gloss or matte medium or soft gel)
Brushes and palette knives.
A pad of art paper (medium weight) for recording mixtures.
Please DO NOT BRING your whole studio as this is a focused workshop!
In addition to your supplies, Chris will bring whatever else is necessary for the class.
