ORGANIZED BY SIEMENS AND SILICON VALLEY FORUM
Over one-third of US manufacturers expect to adopt Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) technologies by 2018, according to the recent Pricewaterhouse Coopers report. At Siemens, we observe increasing interest from our industrial customers for AR/VR in product and process design, maintenance and repair, and remote collaboration. At the same time, startups with new AR/VR solutions are gaining a lot of traction with venture capitalists: Digi-Capital estimates nearly $700 million was invested into AR/VR companies in 2015, and large corporate players are becoming more active.
Adoption of AR/VR technologies poses both opportunities and challenges for industrial customers. Can the demanding technical and safety requirements of industrial settings be met? Can suitable content be easily generated or re-used? Must underlying processes and workflows also change to generate the targeted efficiency improvements? How can companies work together to resolve those challenges, and what role do startups play in advancing the state of the art?
Join the community of Augmented & Virtual Reality players at our event to discuss the vision and future of AR/VR in the industrial and manufacturing environment. You will also learn more about new opportunities for AR/VR startups within the Siemens’ Frontier Partner program.
