• Transforming Inclusion with Cultural Intelligence (CQ)™
Event Information
Description
The world is waking up to the knowledge that Cultural Intelligence is the key ingredient for inclusive organisations and inclusive leadership. This event will inspire, motivate and transform your approach to making D&I work for your organisation.
About this Event
What is key to inclusion? Cultural Intelligence.
Research around the world is highlighting that when leaders and organisations develop their cultural intelligence it leads to enhanced inclusion. This in turn leads to organisations outperforming peers for indicators including productivity, innovation, collaborative working, profitability, customer satisfaction and even reduced absence rates.
Cultural intelligence is key in shifting from managing the frustrations that diversity can bring, to embedding inclusion.
What could that difference mean for you?
Lucy Butters is the only certified Cultural Intelligence professional in Scotland and she is on a mission to share how impactful an approach rooted in CQ is for enhancing inclusion.
In our fast-paced organisations, teams reflect our society and they are diverse. Work demands that professionals can work effectively with diversity (such as age, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality) and across departmental and organisational difference.
Cultural Intelligence gives us the capability to work effectively across these cultural differences.
CQ is a capability model and these capabilities will be explored duruing this training day, with lots of tips and techniques shared for enhancing inclusion by building these capabilities, as individuals and strategically as an organisation.
The difference between leaders, teams and organisations that succeed in today’s diverse organisations, and those that don’t, is cultural intelligence (CQ™).
Organisations with high CQ show the following results:
- Improved recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups
- More diverse and inclusive organisation
- Increased efficiencies and cost savings
- Enhanced multicultural and virtual team effectiveness
- Improved customer satisfaction results.

What previous participants say:
- There were so many great things about this training. It opened my eyes to how broad inclusion and culture is. There was a lot more thinking and participating than being talked to – which was great. And I have left with ideas to implement!
- Excellent facilitator – personable, clean communication and did a great job getting people to think, share and participate
- It’s so useful to have a framework for thinking about culture and inclusion. The CQ report provides a useful way to check where I may be relying on assumptions and need to consider different approaches. I’ll be reflecting a lot.
