Train-the-Trainer Course Information

The Transformative DEI Facilitator Training Series is a collection of interactive sessions for those who wish to sharpen their skills and strategies to address systemic barriers and advance equity.

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between privilege, power and inequity. Participants will gain in-depth insight into how unconscious and implicit bias can unintentionally perpetuate and cause harm to already oppressed groups. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will have the opportunity to explore different types of individual and group privilege and learn how to facilitate these conversations and trainings in a responsible way.

Understand How Power Functions in the Workplace

This course is designed to help participants understand the relationship that individual and group identities have in privilege and power and its impact on driving inequity. We explore this especially as it relates to unconscious and implicit biases that unintentionally perpetuate and cause harm to already oppressed groups. Participants will deepen their understanding of how power functions in the workplace and analyze specific workplace power dynamics through personal reflection and group discussion.

Explore Different Types of Privilege

Participants will have the opportunity to explore different types of individual and group privilege and learn ways to leverage organizational and individual privilege to overcome bias and help others. Through interactive activities, participants will practice recognizing unconscious biases that permeate workplaces, identify and name their own privileges and oppressions, learn how to challenge oppressive systems, policies and practices, and develop tools to disrupt inequality.

Leverage Privilege to Overcome Bias

This course will equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify and challenge unconscious bias within the workplace. Participants will learn how to recognize patterns of privilege and oppression and how to leverage their privilege to help create positive change. This course will help participants take action towards promoting equity and diversity in their own workplace, ultimately creating an inclusive workplace where everyone's potential can be unlocked.

Why You Should Attend:

  • Learn powerful strategies to help recognize and overcome biases that perpetuate inequality in the workplace.
  • Gain key insights from experienced facilitators on ways to leverage organizational and individual privilege for positive change.
  • Deepen your understanding of power dynamics within the workplace through personal reflection and group discussion.

All participants will receive a comprehensive digital course kit to facilitate the course on their own that includes: The Ultimate Guide to Transformative DEI Facilitation, virtual and in-person facilitators' guides, participant guide, pre-and post assessments, promotional swipe materials, session recording.
