About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Whether a woman covers her head for religious reasons, cultural ties, medical purposes, or simply

for fashion, from the age of antiquity, the tradition of crown adornment has roots throughout the

world creating as much diversity in style as it does uniqueness in purpose.

Through historical tutelage, interactive dialogue, and engaging demonstration, we'll offer women

young and seasoned an enriching space to swap ‘head wrap stories', reconnect present with past,

(re)discover new ways of adorning, and find both the creative and transformational power in head

wrapping.

Workshop Take-Aways

Attendees will learn the following during our time together...

❖ History of head wrapping with focus on African culture and tradition

❖ Interactive styling demonstration

❖ Insider tips and tricks for personal styling

About the Instructor

"Wholistic" Designer, Netfah Amina-Afia has been adorning women with her unique one-of-a-kind creations since the early 90s. She is the soul-owner of the Simply Netfah Design House and co-owner of InI Collective, where creations are based on a slow-fashion that dresses for healing, nurturing, and beautifying our sacred body temples.

As a Certified Holistic Health Counselor, Amina Afia earned her CHHA under the International Board of African Thinkers, Traditional Priests, Healers & Religion Assoc. to further connect mind and body and infuse a unique way of healing with adornment. She offers one-on-one private consultations for those seeking a more personalized approach to their sartorial sensitivities.

Rooted by her calling to heal and empower, Netfah continues to unify her passions and insight to inspire a consciousness in the art of adornment designed to raise the vibration of women all over from the inside out.

"I am a creator and healer by nature. WOMEN are my inspiration. LOVE is my reason."
