Is Your LinkedIn Profile Helping You—or Holding You Back?
Your LinkedIn profile is more than just a digital résumé—it’s your professional first impression. Whether you're actively job hunting, expanding your network, or planning your next big move, your profile should highlight where you're going, not just where you’ve been.
In today’s competitive job market, LinkedIn is the go-to platform for career growth. With over 14 million open roles and tools like “Jobs for You” helping more than 4 million people land new positions, it’s no surprise that 97% of recruiters and hiring managers worldwide rely on LinkedIn to find top talent. If your profile isn’t working for you, it might be working against you.
Here are some of the many things you will learn:
Making a Strong First Impression
- Write a headline that highlights your value, not just your title.
- Craft a summary that tells your story with clarity and confidence.
- Select visuals (photos, banners) that align with your personal brand.
Improving Visibility and Searchability
- Use keywords that align with your target roles or industries.
- Refine your job descriptions to focus on impact, not just duties.
- Leverage LinkedIn features like Skills, Featured Content, and Recommendations.
Positioning Yourself Strategically
- Align your profile with your career direction—whether you’re looking, open, or growing.
- Showcase results and achievements in a way that resonates with recruiters and hiring managers.
- Make your profile easy to skim, but rich in substance.
- Set job alerts to stay notified and be the first to apply for desired opportunities.
Now is the perfect time to refresh your presence before your next opportunity finds you.
The job market is a little wonky right now. Don’t wait until you need to “put something together." Instead, spend a few hours polishing off your profile to attract your next opportunity before you need it.

Yes. There will be places where you can ask them or you can enter them into chat at any time.
One thing we discuss is a new trend in companies laying off employees and designating them as having been fired for poor performance-based reasons, and what you should do to help yourself before or in case it happens to you.
Currently, no, due to the amount of space involved. However, I am looking for a solution similar to having a private YouTube channel. I expect we will have a solution by the time of this workshop but at this time, we do not record workshops.
We do talk about how to handle your professional masthead and image.
We do talk about it and are also considering offering a complete course on it. It is more than one or two questions-worth of information.
