Transform Your Connected Collaboration — Also Ask Your Pre-Event Questions

By David Loughry with ProxThink
Online event

Overview

In a connected world, proximity-oriented collaboration can be more enjoyable and effective. Start transforming with this Social Quickstart.

Do You Collaborate? Start Transforming

If you collaborate in your work, business, organization, home, school, neighborhood, community, social situations or elsewhere, you should benefit from this Social Quickstart to Enjoy Collabs and start transforming. Here are three main reasons:

  1. Our huge opportunities for proximity-oriented collaboration using the ProxThink Growth Model in a connected world.
  2. The many ways you, and we, can use this approach, at three scales (personal, organizational, and/or societal).
  3. This Social Quickstart is an easier, more interactive way to start your transformation to proximity-oriented collaboration using the ProxThink Growth Model. More on this below.

Explore these reasons in depth at Enjoy Collabs (Get Ready).

Join This Collaborative Experiment

Join this collaborative experiment in three phases:

  1. Learn about collaborating with the ProxThink Growth Model and the Shared Situation Guide on your own (more here) or in this Social Quickstart to Enjoy Collabs event (reserve your spot!).
  2. Begin to use the Shared Situation Guide on your own (more here) or in one of our upcoming Enjoy Collabs Workshops (dates coming soon).
  3. Collaborate, compare experiences, and share knowledge with others as we experiment with using the ProxThink Growth Model and the Shared Situation Guide in diverse shared situations! You can do this on your own and/or in online group sessions.

Who's Hosting?

Welcome! I'm David Loughry. Over decades, integrating a diverse array of knowledge and experiences across the arts, sciences, design, philosophy, creativity, innovation, and business, I created a collaboration approach made for a connected world. It's part of my proximity thinking (ProxThink) framework.

To enable you to quickly make the most of this approach, I created the Quickstart to Enjoy Collabs and the Shared Situation Guide (for mobile and desktop). More on both below. Your two steps to get ready are:

  1. Attend this Social Quickstart (I'll host) or take the Quickstart on your own.
  2. Begin using the Shared Situation Guide on your own or attend one or more Enjoy Collabs Workshops (I'll host) to start in a more social, interactive way.

These two steps should get you comfortable with proximity-oriented collaboration using the ProxThink Growth Model.

Pre-Event Q&A for Your Questions — Optional

Many questions about whether to attend should be answered at Enjoy Collabs (Get Ready).

However, if you still have questions about this event or whether to attend, after you select Reserve a Spot, then add the choice called "(Optional) — Ask Pre-Event Questions" to your cart. You can ask in the form during checkout. You do not need to reserve a spot until later if you're not sure yet, although spots are limited.

If the answers to your questions are specific to you, you'll get them via email. If the answers could help others as well, you'll get notified via email to view the Online Event Page for your answers.

If you attend this event, I'm asking you to proxri with a combination of financial and non-financial proxri. So, please be sure you want to attend by asking your pre-event questions. For more about proxri (ProxRewards), see the "About proxri…" section below.

Social Quickstart to Enjoy Collabs — Event Details

Together, we'll walk through the short online Quickstart to Enjoy Collabs video course, with plenty of time for questions and answers (Q&A). You'll also see the first step to starting your own custom Shared Situation Guide, with Q&A.

Briefly, in this online session, together we will:

  1. See your expected before and after knowledge, to get motivated.
  2. Quickly walk through relevant parts of the Quickstart Onramp (Orientation).
  3. Watch each short video in the course.
  4. After each video, have a very brief Q&A (question and answer) session.
  5. After the above ProxThink-related videos, answer remaining questions.
  6. Also watch the video tour of the Shared Situation Guide, and have a Q&A.
  7. See the first step to starting your own custom Shared Situation Guide, with Q&A.

There will be a replay of this event, available for several weeks.

About proxri (ProxRewards), and deciding on your proxri:

As mentioned, if you attend this event, I'm asking you to proxri with a combination of financial and non-financial proxri. But what are "proxri"?

"Proxri" (pronounced prox’ree and short for one or more ProxRewards), are rewards made with the proximity in mind. In practice, proxri are sort of like the give and take of a neighborhood, relationship, friendship or perhaps being a considerate traveler.

You may want the neighborhood, relationship, friendship or location you’re visiting to survive, thrive, and take care of you as you take care of it. You may also want it to persist, adapt and change as needed, which is how proximities stay sustainable and life stays interesting.

How do you proxri? Basically, you consider the proximity, including your benefits, your circumstances, the other party’s circumstances, and some wider context, and then proxri as appropriate. As part of deciding on your proxri, you'll need to consider my circumstances. You can also proxri in non-financial ways. There is a minimum proxri to reserve your spot in this Social Quickstart (which includes a replay of this event), and you can proxri more now and/or later as well.

Still curious? You'll find more about proxri at proxri.org. Better yet, discover how proxri are part of the ProxThink Growth Model while taking this Social Quickstart or the self-paced Quickstart to Enjoy Collabs, so you can have more enjoyable and effective connected collaboration.

Let’s Share Our RelatePoints so We Have Options To Proxri, Connect With, and Collaborate With Each Other

NOTES — To make sense of this section, first read the previous section about proxri. This sharing process is optional but highly recommended (read on for why).

Since this is a kind of social event, and we're learning about and using the ProxThink Growth Model (and proxri are part of it), we should allow for proxri among ourselves! And along with that comes options to connect and/or collaborate. It's also a way for us to get to know each other better.

We'll do this by putting RelatePoints to use, as RelatePoints are also part of the ProxThink Growth Model. Each of us (event participants) can share our Zoom Display Name and our RelatePoint. This info will then go into a sorted spreadsheet we can each access, and if appropriate, others who attend the event can optionally (after noting your Zoom Display Name as we interact in the session, and/or after checking out your RelatePoint) reach out for things like the following: to proxri you, connect with you, and/or collaborate with you.

What should you use as your RelatePoint? You can use things like your social media handle/username/URL, a link to a list of collected links (such as Linktree), or a website (or a link to a page on a website). For more on this and how it works, see How To Make It Easy for People To Proxri You.

Proxri More, Now to Dec. 28

As mentioned above (in the "About proxri …" section), your choice of proxri is based on your benefits, your circumstances, my circumstances, and some wider context.

You can proxri more after reserving your spot and/or after the event, by using the options in the Proxri More area after selecting the Reserve a Spot button on this event description page.

You can also proxri more in non-financial ways, which is suggested and recommended. You'll have a chance when checking out to describe some non-financial ways you plan to proxri and/or have already proxried. You can get ideas for non-financial ways to proxri, and find a link to describe them in a message (if you don't do so when checking out), right here.

Note that this Proxri More option does not reserve you a spot in this Social Quickstart.

Join Us!

You're invited! I hope you'll join us. This collaborative experiment should be a bit of an adventure! And, one that enables us to enjoy more SustaVariety.
