Trans & NB: Meditation Monday for those in Recovery
Overview
Guided Meditation for individuals in recovery that exist within the spectrum of gender diversity, facilitated by Peer Recovery Coach, Oliver Trujillo (he/they).
This group is focused on providing a space for trans and non-binary people to practice mindfulness and reflection throughout any phase of recovery they are in, [whether that be in active use, questioning, currently in treatment, or have been free of use for years].
This meeting is open to all who belong in the queer community, and led by a trans-masc, non-binary PRC.
We meet weekly, each Monday from 7 pm to 8 pm EST.
Mics and cameras are optional.
Chat is open to use.
Closed Caption is always on.
Visual timers are utilized to provide visual cue.
Beginners and those with little to no experience are invited to engage at any capacity that feels natural.
Each week we begin with a short introduction of the topic, followed by a breathing exercise, then dive in while led verbally through the practice of meditation, mindful movement is encouraged, we exit the state of mind gently with a re-grounding before coming back to open conversation for the last 15 minutes of the hour prior to ending the zoom.
Attendees are invited to email the facilitator with any requests [or questions about] accommodations that will assist in improving their overall experience in participation of the group.
