About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 5 hours

Thank you & welcome to the Harper Keele Veterinary School Train the Trainer Course!

Join us for an exciting in-person event at the Harper & Keele Veterinary School. This 2-day course is tailored for employees of our partner practices who host 5th-year students during their intramural rotations for the Veterinary Medicine & Surgery Degree. The course covers the principles and importance of feedback and assessment, provides an overview of the vet school and its rotation structure, and offers the opportunity to meet key staff members who will be working closely with you.

Note Day 2 involves a mini teach in the morning whereby all delegates choose a practical lasting 5 minutes to teach the other delegates, ideally non veterinary related. Examples could be teaching how to tie different knots, how to salsa dance, how to do origami etc. The point of this exercise being that you can showcase what you have learnt about giving feedback in Day 1's Train the Trainer on the practical skills you have taught your peers in your mini teach.

Please ensure that each individual from your practice books a ticket so we can capture email addresses for certificate distribution. This also allows us to meet RCVS requirements by tracking which partner staff have completed the Train the Trainer course, ensuring they are officially qualified to assess and provide feedback to our students as part of their course requirements

PARKING:

You are welcome to park in the Vet School car park at the visitor parking bays situated on the back row of the car park furthest away from the building (see campus map 49 = Vet School) , please note, this is monitored by ANPR system and so please do ensure you complete the form to notify the team of your vehicle registration so as we can log you as a visitor where you will not be charged.
