Join Us for the Official Launch of “Trails Forever” on National Trails Day!
The recent devastating wildfires have been a wake-up call: our beloved Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area needs our help.
Since 1988, Santa Monica Mountains Fund (SAMO Fund) has been the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, working to protect and preserve this irreplaceable landscape. With increasingly severe wildfire seasons, habitat loss, and shrinking federal budgets, SAMO Fund is launching Trails Forever, a crucial initiative dedicated to maintaining and safeguarding our trails for generations to come.
To celebrate this important mission, we invite you to our Trails Forever Event on Saturday, June 7th, at the Anthony C. Beilenson Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch.
Guests will enjoy an inspiring evening featuring engagings speakers, including our keynote speaker, Josh Jackson. Josh is a writer, photographer, and advocate for public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Through his Forgotten Lands Project, he employs immersive storytelling and striking visual narratives to inspire appreciation and engagement with these often overlooked landscapes. His advocacy work has been featured by the Los Angeles Times and SFGate. Josh is also the author of the forthcoming book, The Enduring Wild: A Journey into California's Public Lands.
As the sun sets, attendees will be treated to a thoughtfully curated meal and beverage service in a beautiful, ambient setting. Each guest will also receive an exclusive sponsor gift pack as a token of our appreciation. Additionally, a silent auction will be held, offering the chance to take home incredible items while directly supporting trail conservation.
Every trail tells a story and this is where the next chapter begins—for those who hike today, for future generations, and for all who find solace and adventure in nature. We can't wait to connect with you!
