Tractor Maintenance and Operation Workshop
Join us at Walker Farm for a FREE all-day, hands-on workshop on maintenance, safety and operation basics for a large tractor. Please note: this workshop is geared towards beginner farmers who are currently or will be doing tractor work in the future.
Our expert instructor is Kendall Kunelius, Agri-Business Field Specialist at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Extension. Kendall teaches farm equipment maintenance and operation workshops through the Women in Agriculture and Women in the Woods programs with UNH.
In the morning portion, we will cover maintenance basics: greasing, checking and refilling fluids, tire pressure, air filters and more. In the afternoon, we will go over safety basics and driving, PTO, and implements.
We will be using a 75 hp tractor with a cab and a loader. The tractor is equipped with heat, air conditioning, an instructor seat, and Bluetooth radio for instructor/participant communication. The cab is ergonomically friendly and adjustable to meet steering wheel and seat preferences or needs.
The workshop is for farmers and is limited to 12 people. Registration required. You will need to bring your own lunch but snacks will be provided.
