Event description

Description

Join us for a FREE community viewing of the upcoming eclipse!

Monday, August 21, 2017
12:30pm to 4:30pm

Here in Philly, we will be able to see a partial eclipse between 1:21 and 4:01pm, with maximum sun coverage occurring at 2:44pm. Come anytime, however, because we will have ongoing activities in our yard and lecture hall, including:

  • Make your own pinhole camera
  • View eclipse on our Sun funnel telescope
  • Watch NASA live broadcast of total eclipse across the country
  • Participate in eclipse model demonstrations

Please note that our museum will NOT be open during this event. Children must be accompanied by an adult. We will have a limited number of eclipse viewing glasses available!

Enter our yard on 17th Street, across from the police station entrance.

This event is weather dependent, please call us at 215-763-6529 x15, or check our homepage (wagnerfreeinstitute.org) on the day of event.

Walk-ins will be welcome as space allows. Preregistration is capped at 75 but total event capacity is 150. Groups of 10 or more please call 215-763-6529 x15 to see if there is room.
