About this event

"The purpose of music is to sober and quiet the mind, thus making it susceptible to divine influences." -- John Cage

Top Hat Supply for Journeys is excited to welcome back Boulder artist, Jamie Kripke, for two more listening events in June.

Check your phone at the door, get comfortable in our art studio lounge and drop in for an hour of music. While we quietly and intentionally listen, Jamie will take us through a well curated flow of vinyl selections. Eye masks are provided for those who want an even more meditative experience.

Played through vintage Ohm 3D sonic picture speakers combined with Sonos spatial audio, the hour makes for an immersive experience...like a sound bath, but more fun.

Jamie will continue playing vinyl for those who’d like to linger after, take in the art and share in a discussion around listening and how it connects us to our "divine influences".

Top Hat Supply for Journeys is an experimental art studio and nonprofit seeking to reconnect people with the creative spirit. Through events like Jamie's we hope to learn more about how to strengthen this connection in ourselves and our community.

Please arrive at 8:00. We will serve tea, beer and sparkling water (BYOB also welcome). Jamie will give a brief talk at 8:15 and music will start promptly at 8:30; we will not be able to accommodate those arriving late. Seating is first come first served. We will ask that all technology is silenced and there will be no talking during the listening hour of this event.

“This was a beautiful hour to simple BE, release the technology I feel too attached to, be transported through music and to connect with great people. Will be back to enjoy more new music!” - Lindsay G.
