Event description
Join Sarah Sharp for an afternoon of quilting and conversation around art practices and political resistance.

About this Event

Join Sarah Sharp and other artists and activists for an afternoon of quilting and conversation around art practices and political resistance. Participants are invited to work on a collective quilt, or bring their own textiles to construct a new quilted project (or any other textile-based project.) No prior skills are necessary and basic materials will be provided.

“Tool Share: Quilting Circle” builds on “Tool Share Roundtable: Art and Activism,” an event held at SoHo20 gallery in 2017, that gathered politically engaged members of NYC creative communities to address activism, art practices and self-care in a time of deep uncertainty and resistance.

“Tool Share: Quilting Circle” is a chance for the creative community to gather almost exactly one year away from the next Presidential election, and share skills, stories and assessments from the past three years, and consider sustaining political engagement into the coming years
