Urevbu Contemporary is proud to present Too Beautiful to Break, the second solo exhibition by Congolese artist Doudou Mbemba (curated by Sheila Urevbu).

His bold figurative paintings reframe how Black life is seen - rendering his subjects styled, adorned, and radiant in their full dignity. More than physical elegance, these works speak to an inner beauty: self love, resilence, and the refusal to be diminished.

In Mbemba's hands, representation becomes restoration - an art of seeing ourselves as whole, powerful and unbroken.
