Innovative collaborations are needed to address our most pressing social and environmental challenges. This symposium brings together leading practitioners of collaborative work from the fields of public art, science research, and urban development. Together welcomes emerging and established artists, scientists, and others interested in learning more about how cross-disciplinary collaborators can find each other, communicate across disciplines, and create work that can challenge and shift established paradigms. Questions to be addressed include: What defines this emergent field of collaborative creative work? What are the challenges and opportunities of working together? Expect inspiring talks and field trips, focused strategy workshops, and plenty of time to socialize and connect. A public keynote lecture by the internationally recognized artist Mel Chin, creator of the pivotal environmental work, Revival Field, will kick-off this program on Thursday, October 19th at 7PM.

Together is co-hosted by Public Art Saint Paul and its City Art Collaboratory of artist and scientist fellows, and the University of Saint Thomas.

Thursday, October 19th Mel Chin will be speaking at the University of St Thomas Tickets are free and aviable here- https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mel-chin-revival-field-revisited-tickets-37131033922 Mel Chin’s participation is co-sponsored by Great River Passage in the City of Saint Paul’s Department of Parks and Recreation; The Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the Department of Art at Macalester College, and Walker Art Center.
