About this event

Other

CCUIH's Rising Together: Together We Stand Strong invites our community to the beach for an evening of connection, culture, and healing. Families can enjoy activities that uplift and celebrate our resilience, while the voices of bird singers bring tradition and strength to the gathering. As the sun begins to set, we will come together in a healing ceremony to honor our community’s journey from violence toward restoration and hope. This event is a space for reflection, joy, and unity, reminding us that we are stronger when we rise together.

Frequently asked questions

Who can attend?

We encourage all ages to attend our event. However, because we will be on the public beach in La Jolla, your family must be aware of where your children are at all times. We will have a grassy area where Elders can sit and enjoy the evening.

What should I bring?

Bring your sunscreen, beach chairs, blankets, towels, sweatshirts, ribbon skirts, something warm to wear for after the sun sets, and a good heart to share with community. Water, juice, snacks, and dinner will be provided.
