About this event

TODD BURGE
A native of West Virginia's Wood County region, Burge spent the '80s and '90s earning his place as one of the most important, prolific and enduring figures in the state's music scene, fronting everything from the alt-rock band 63 Eyes to the outlaw-country cover project Triple Shot. Since the early 2000s, Burge has concentrated on his singular brand of folk-pop storytelling. Employing wry humor, dexterous guitar work and an ear bending vocal range, if it’s been discovered by man, Todd Burge has written about it. Born to ponder and observe life, each of his songs tells a story. Whether drawn from personal experience or a tale of poetically woven fiction, you’ll live every second of it through his songs.
Burge has graced stages at an array of venues, from iconic locations like CBGB's and The Country Music Hall of Fame to the prestigious stages of The Kennedy Center, alongside countless music venues and theaters. He has been a repeat guest on various nationally syndicated programs including Mountain Stage Radio (NPR) and Songs at the Center (PBS).
Larry Groce
Larry Groce is an esteemed American singer-songwriter whose eclectic catalog spans folk‑Americana, hymns, children’s music, and novelty hits. His tune “Junk Food Junkie” soared into the Billboard Top 10, earning national TV and radio attention. Groce has released over two dozen albums—among them multiple platinum Disney children’s records, one Grammy-nominated. After relocating to West Virginia, he co‑founded Mountain Stage, shaping its musical direction for decades. Honored with induction into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame, his songwriting legacy bridges art, community, and family.
Jake Eddy is the leading torchbearer of solo bluegrass flatpicking and was called “one of the most exciting young guitarists” by Fretboard Journal. In 2023 he was invited to perform at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, performed 3 times on the Grand Ole Opry, and was nominated for IBMA Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year. His style is influenced heavily by the syncopated playing of Clarence White and he cites influences from Doc Watson and McCoy Tyner to Jimmy Bryant and Roy Clark. Bluegrass Unlimited says Jake’s recent album is “proof we live in the golden age of flatpicking” and when you hear him, you will have no choice but to agree.

Oyo formed along the Ohio River, between Ohio and West Virginia, when six musicians from both sides of the water started trading tunes and didn’t see much reason to stop. What began as casual jams in the back of a print shop grew into a shared appreciation for story-driven songs and a stripped-down sound.
From dimly lit barrooms to the footlights of festival stages, Oyo weaves together threads of folk, honky-tonk, bluegrass, and rock into a sound that feels both familiar and entirely their own. They’ve shared the stage with roots music heavyweights including Sierra Ferrell, Town Mountain, and Larry Keel, and keep carving out their place in the tradition of stringband music—with songs that nod to good times, wrong turns, and the long road home.
