Toastmasters Area 56 Evaluation Workshop (Division L, District 91), with Lynne Cantor
Feedback is at the core of Toastmasters. Ralph Smedley, the founder of Toastmasters, said that evaluations create enthusiasm and once you light that fire the only thing it needs is some kindling. With that in mind and in anticipation of the upcoming evaluation contest, Data Science Speakers are proud to host the workshop “Evaluations - A speaker’s best friend.”
You will leave this workshop with greater confidence and credibility as an evaluator and a competitive edge in evaluation contests. Use the tools and insights you learn to advance not only on your Toastmasters journey but in your professional life too!
By mastering the skill of effective evaluation and taking it back to your club, you are sure to raise the standards of speakers and evaluators in your club. A good evaluator learns to listen and hear, refine their speaking ability, and develop a speaker’s respect; all skills that can be used far beyond the club environment and are sure to offer a competitive advantage in the modern workplace.
In Lynne’s workshop, which includes opportunities to practice, you will learn practical tips and techniques on:
How to prepare for an evaluation
What to look for when evaluating
How to structure your feedback
How to help a speaker develop
