Reels & Roots us proud to present a special screening of To Live and Die and Live, the critically acclaimed film by director Qasim Basir (Mooz-lum, A Boy. A Girl. A Dream.). Visually stunning and emotionally gripping, the film follows Hollywood director Muhammad Abdullah as he returns home to Detroit and confronts grief, addiction, and identity.

Immediately after the film, stay for a live Q&A with Basir. We’ll dive into the creative process, the film’s themes of healing and transformation, and the role of storytelling in shaping culture and community.
