Description

This intensive 3-day course introduces new users to the basic functionality of TMS. The focus is on cataloguing objects; tracking exhibition, loan, and shipping activities; linking media to records; searching the database; reporting on and exporting data, and more. This is a hands-on class; in-person participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.


Audience

The TMS for Windows Core Application Training course is appropriate for all TMS for Windows users, such as registrars, curators, educators, archivists, support staff, and anyone who uses TMS on a regular basis. This includes:

  • New users (e.g., new staff members, students in college/masters programs, soon-to-be job seekers interested in learning TMS for Windows, etc.)
  • Existing users (who want to refresh their TMS knowledge or learn about the new advancements from a recent upgrade)


Prerequisites

This course assumes the student has little or no familiarity with TMS. However, experienced TMS users who want to expand their understanding of TMS will also benefit from participating in this hands-on training.

Recommended Setup

The online version of this training session has been designed with a hands-on approach. For an optimal learning experience, we strongly recommend the following setup:

  • A strong internet connection
  • 1 monitor for viewing the training (a computer or a large tablet)
  • 1 computer monitor for working in your TMS database
  • A hands-free phone or a headset
  • Ability to use remote desktop (MAC users will need app from Mac App Store)

*Each participant receives a unique demo database login.
