During this session, participants will receive an overview of the Financial Literacy course. The meeting will provide an opportunity for questions and answers. Attendees will also learn about the Kaizen Foundation, meet the Board of Directors, staff, and co-founder, and receive information on the prerequisites for enrolling in the course or any of its sections.

October 9 | Understanding Your Debt

Understanding Your Debt This class breaks down the essentials of managing debt and making smarter financial decisions. We’ll explore: Types of Debt: From credit cards to student loans, mortgages, and personal loans—what they are and how they work. Good vs. Bad Debt: Learn the difference between debt that builds wealth and debt that drains your resources. How Interest Works: Understand how interest rates impact your payments, total cost, and timeline for becoming debt-free. By the end of this session, you’ll have practical tools to assess your debt, prioritize repayment, and make informed choices for your financial future.

October 16 | Creating A Debt Repayment Plan

Creating a Debt Repayment Plan Take control of your finances with a clear strategy to eliminate debt. In this session, you’ll learn: Budgeting Basics: How to align your spending with your goals. Repayment Strategies: Compare the snowball vs. avalanche methods to find what works best for you. Setting Goals & Timelines: Build a realistic plan to stay motivated and on track. Walk away with an actionable roadmap to pay down debt and regain financial freedom.
