TIME TO PRETEND is an hour(ish) long sketch comedy showcase, from the minds that brought you Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur and Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur 3D. Many people wonder to themselves: “Fuck, Marry, Kill - Funny writing, multimedia elements, and great characters.” Well… Eric and Ryan say - “Why not FUCK all three. Life really is what we make of it, eh?”

Created by Eric Gorday (Ryan’s Roommate) and Ryan Novak (Comedy Central, Big Mouth, Netflix is a Joke)

When Eric, Ryan and Zach moved to New York City to pursue comedy in 2014 they each had one thing to say during their inaugural ride on the Q70 bus from Laguardia to Bed Stuy:

“I can’t wait to put on a sketch show that combines multimedia with motifs of boyish whimsy” - Ryan (1998- )

“I can’t wait to do that exact show at Caveat on August 19th, 2025” - Eric (2000- )

“I can’t wait to go free diving in with those hammerhead sharks in Aruba next weekend” - Zach (2006-2014)

Now, a decade(ish) later, the time to pretend has finally come for real. Eric and Ryan - and friends - are thrilled to premiere their debut sketch show that explores themes of friendship, nostalgia and early adulthood. Time to Pretend is a labor of love, and if Eric and Ryan could talk, they’d say: “We’re so excited for you to come and see it. Life really is what we make of it, eh?”
