Tim Wheeler will recount the life of George A. Meyers. Meyers organized 12,000 textile workers in Cumberland, Maryland, and was elected President of the Maryland-D.C., C.I.O. He was later framed on trumped up charges of conspiring to overthrow the US government and spent nearly four years in prison. Freed, he dedicated his life to building the labor movement.

Tim Wheeler is the author of three books and has written over 10,000 news reports, exposés, op-eds, and commentaries in his half-century as a journalist for The Worker, Daily World, and People's World. After residing in Baltimore for many years, he now lives in Sequim, Washington.
