Till It's Done: A Music & Poetry Workshop

Join King Friday and Arsimmer McCoy in this month's workshop Till It's Done: A Music & Poetry Workshop, where participants will explore sound and song as carrier of code and caution, and liberation.

Participants will be guided through the codes found inside of call and response, simple blues chords that act as maps, and calls for rebellion and evolution disguised in beloved dance songs. Attendees will work with Arsimmer to craft lyrics and King to compose a melody, culminating in a final collective song creation; transforming personal experience and tales into powerful expression.

Workshop materials and refreshments will be provided, and those attending are encouraged to bring personal archival materials, and musical instruments with them to inspire their own process, and contribute to the collective's.

Items can include but are not limited to;

• letters
• figurines/toys/sculptures
• tambourines
• kalimba/mbira
