Calling all Regarding Her Members in LA and DC!

TikTok has become a game-changer for restaurants and food businesses. It’s an opportunity to share your story, showcase your food, and connect with new audiences in ways that feel authentic and fun. The good news? You don’t need fancy equipment or hours of free time to make it work for you.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll focus on the essentials of TikTok, designed with busy food and beverage owners in mind.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Why TikTok is a game-changer for small businesses (hint: you don't need a big budget to grow).
  • Converting casual scrollers into paying customers with strategic calls-to-action.
  • Creating content that feels authentic to your brand and connects with your audience.
  • Filming and editing like a pro using just the phone in your pocket.
  • Riding the algorithm wave with trending sounds, hashtags, and formats that boost discoverability.

MEET THE PANEL

Kassie Mendieta (@ibakemistakes)

With over 118K TikTok followers, Kassie has built a devoted community around her approachable baking expertise and genuine passion for cakes. As a full-time recipe developer and self-proclaimed "culinary industry plant," she creates recipes that are both innovative and accessible.

Based between San Diego and Los Angeles, Kassie recently stepped back from daily cake production to focus on her newsletter "bake chats" on Substack, where she shares recipes, industry insights, and personal updates. Her candid approach to recipe development and willingness to embrace the learning process has resonated with home bakers and professionals alike.

Yesenia Castro (@Pink & Boujee LA)

With a defined brand and growing following, Yesenia Castro turned a dream into reality when she and her mother, Guadalupe Castro, founded Pink & Boujee in their hometown of Boyle Heights. What started as a food cart blossomed into a beloved brick and mortar location in February 2023.

Located in the heart of Boyle Heights, Pink & Boujee has become celebrated for its authentic Mexican cuisine with a signature pink twist. Yesenia's commitment to honoring her roots while adding her own creative flair has made Pink & Boujee a community staple and a vibrant destination for those seeking traditional flavors with a modern, colorful edge.

Chef Amanda Rios (@somebodyselotelady)

With a handle on hyperlocal engagement, Chef Amanda Rios and her husband Red Feather run Playa Baby Truck, a beloved Orange County food truck that brings the spirit of coastal México to Southern California. Born from the sands of the playa and ignited at Burning Man, their culinary journey blends rich traditions from the beaches of Ensenada to the heart of the American South.

Their menu is a flavorful celebration of shared histories, featuring Nayarit-style beer battered tacos, street sausage dogs, and signature artisanal tortas. Each dish reflects their commitment to love, creativity, integrity, and sustainability. Currently located at Walmart in Westminster, Playa Baby Truck treats every guest like familia, serving food that tells their story with passion and Southern hospitality.

A proud family business that is BIPOC owned, immigrant owned, women owned, Indigenous owned, and Black owned.
