Do I need to  register in advance to attend?

Accepted Answer

Individual drop-in attendance is welcomed for anyone over 18 years old. For volunteers under 18, a "Volunteer Agreement Form" needs to be signed by a parent/guardian, and groups over 5 need to register ahead of time. Please email the Volunteer Manager at cristobalcs@ptreyes.org for more info.

What type of work will be doing?

Work will consist of removing invasive plants by hand and in some cases using hand tools. Common plants we will be pulling include ice plant, European searocket, and European Beach grass.

Will we be hiking to the work location?

Accepted Answer

Yes, each workday will begin with a welcome check-in at the Abbott's Lagoon trailhead, which has bathroom access. We will then hike 1.3 miles on a mostly flat dirt trail to reach our worksite. Volunteers are welcome to stay for as long as they like.
