Event description

Description

Tear off the mask. Your face is glorious.

-Rumi

In this workshop, we will spend time in discovering more deeply the beauty of the authentic self, a self which was created perfectly in a time before our experience in a world where shame and trauma harmed our innocent nature. Join us as we gently unfold the treasure of ourselves that lies beneath the false mask overlay that our pain has erected for survival. We will use tools of creative spontaneity to encounter and delight with the emergent roles within ourselves.

These ongoing sessions present sociometry, psychodrama, spontaneity-creativity theory and role theory. Participants will learn and practice techniques for use in their field of interest. Attendees have the opportunity to experience and learn about the roles of group member, auxiliary ego, protagonist and director. Sessions will offer unique instruction in the application of experiential methods to a variety of life circumstances and themes. In addition, by being involved in all the roles of psychodrama, participants will benefit from deep personal growth work. Psychodramatic methodologies of role reversal, doubling, mirroring and future projection will be demonstrated and experienced. Lunch provided on Saturday. Snacks and beverages provided throughout the weekend.

17 training hours can be credited toward certification by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.
