Maggie Favretti, an accomplished cultural historian educated at Yale and Middlebury, has dedicated over 35 years to fostering innovative learning experiences that tap into the inherent creativity, resourcefulness, and collaboration of young people and communities. Specializing in "community co-design thinking," she empowers youth, educators, and communities to address complex problems across disciplines. Noteworthy achievements include her invitation by the American School Superintendents Assoc. to assist students and teachers to address community challenges in Puerto Rico post-2017 hurricanes. Recognized with awards from historical organizations, bankers, and student leaders, Maggie's expertise in place-based learning and co-design thinking shifts paradigms for thriving communities. Acknowledged by President Obama for environmental education, she received the Sousa Mendes Foundation’s Freedom Award for facilitating the next generation of rescuers. Her recent book, "Learning in the Age of Climate Disasters:  Teacher and Student Empowerment beyond Futurephobia," delves into resilience strategies rooted in nature’s principles, offering a profound perspective on overcoming "futurephobia" and fostering positive change.


Danielle Parent - Director, Maine Resiliency Center

Danielle Parent JD, LCSW serves as the Director of the Maine Resiliency Center operated by Community Concepts Inc (CCI). The Maine Resiliency Center was developed in the aftermath of the Mass Shooting that occurred in Lewiston Maine on October 25 th , 2023, and serves as a resource for victims, first responders and the community. Danielle has extensive experience in the development, implementation, and operations of programs and services particularly in the field of mental health and served as the Chief Growth Officer for Sweetser prior to joining CCI. She completed the Hanley Health Leadership Development course in 2020 and was the 2019 recipient of NAMI Maine’s Mental Health Leader award. Danielle graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Masters in social work and a Juris Doctorate in Law. She is a licensed independent clinical social worker.
