What is it?

Thriving Through & Beyond Covid is an Openspace conference aimed to bring together educators from across the world to share and discuss best practices as we all move through this challenging time.

What is Openspace?

An Openspace conference allows participants to propose different sessions they are either interested in leading themselves or participating in. In this sense, Openspace is very participant-driven and less organizer-driven.

How will it work?

Educators who register for the event will be sent a link to a portal where they will be able to suggest sessions they want to run or sessions they want to participate in. Potential sessions could be: How to develop (Fill in the blank) curriculum online, How to provide social and emotional support to colleagues/students, Stress management, Best software for online learning, How to get the most out of Zoom, Struggles, and Advantages to shifting to an online learning platform.

Once all sessions have been initially proposed, a voting phase will begin, which allows participants to nominate sessions they consider most valuable. Participants will be able to vote for multiple sessions and those most popular will form the final schedule. Once the schedule is finalized, it will be sent out to the participants, who will then be able to sign up for the sessions which they choose.

This current situation has created a climate where educators have to make major adjustments at a speed that is above and beyond what should be expected, which can create many uncertainties, opportunities, feelings of overwhelm and inspiration. This is an event that will allow you to come together with like-minded educators from around the globe and connect in ways that are both insightful, reassuring and progressive.
