Threads of Time-A Quilting Journey with Sharyn Resvick
Overview
The lecture is presented in conjunction with the Dakota County Star Quilters' 31st Annual Quilt Show "A Parade of "Quilts" . Admission to the show is included.
Sharyn is a quilter from Plymouth, MN. She had the honor of being chosen as Minnesota Quilter of the Year for 2025 which she says was a pinnacle in her quilting career.
Sharyn’s love of quilting and interest in quilt history has led her to create her Threads of Time historical quilt collection, a series of small quilts which represent the many styles of quilts that span over two-and-a-half centuries of quilt making. Each quilt has a story to tell of the history of quilting from the first medallion quilts of the early 1800s to the depression era quilts of the early 1900s to the sampler quilts seen after the second quilt revival of the 1970s on up to the modern quilts of today. Sharyn’s collection of quilts were selected as special exhibits for the MN State Quilt Show in St Cloud in 2018, the Red River Quilt Show in Grand Forks, ND in 2019, and the International Quilt Festival’s 50th Anniversary Show in Houston, TX in 2024.
